The Sony Pictures Boss Quits After Emails Hack

Amy Pascal had apologised for racially insensitive comments concerning President Obama within the leaked messages.



Sony footage pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal is standing down within the wake of embarrassing emails that were leaked once the studio was hacked.

The movie-production company said on Thursday that she would launch a production venture for the studio in may.

The Hollywood mogul had apologised for "insensitive and inappropriate" comments within the email interactions including racially charged remarks concerning President Barack Obama.

During her 20-year career at the studio, Ms Pascal was behind such hits because the last 3 james bond films, The da vinci Code and american Hustle.


She conjointly backed The Interview, a recent comedy about a plot to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong un, which can have sparked the cyber-attack on the studio in retaliation.


Sony entertainment chief executive michael Lynton same in a statement: "The studio's heritage is due in giant half to Amy's passion for storytelling and love of this industry.  

"I am delighted that Amy are continued her association with SPE through this new venture, that capitalizes on her extraordinary abilities.

Sony didn't immediately disclose who would replace Ms Pascal, who rose to become one of the film industry's high female executives.

In the leaked emails, Ms Pascal and Hollywood producer Scott Rudin created derogative remarks regarding President Obama's presumed movie decisions, listing photos starring African Americans.

Mr Rudin additionally spoke of Jolie's "rampaging spoiled ego".
